Joshua Grimes of the Grimes Law Offices says in a time when mass event cancellations are rocking the industry, it’s important to read your force majeure clause carefully, as it’s not always obvious what you’re allowed to do based on the clause that you’ve negotiated. Some clauses only allow cancellation if it becomes “illegal or impossible” to move forward, but legally the word impossible doesn’t always mean literally impossible, but can mean it’s an undue hardship to go forward.
