By Semaj Watts

With IMEX America in full swing, destinations from all over the world set up booths on Tuesday (Oct. 16) to showcase the many exciting features their locations have to offer. Argentinian tango dancing couple David Diaz Sanchez and Masako Kimura spoke with us about their shared passion for a dance that they believe is the heart of Argentina.

How long have you both been dancing?
Sanchez: 12 years.
Kimura: 12 years.

How did you come to be a part of this event?
Sanchez: We have a couple of friends who told us about this event. So, Karina Villalobos called us to be a part of this event. Argentina was having a display, so we are supporting them.

How are you interacting with people that come to the booth?
Sanchez: We are showing them the Argentina tango and the culture of Argentina.

You travel a lot for dance, where is your favorite place you’ve visited?
Kimura: I would say San Francisco.

Sanchez: San Francisco is very nice.

What is your favorite thing about dance?
Sanchez: The way we feel, the music, how we can take the music as a couple. I mean we can put tons of emotions there. I could be extremely tired, but once I can get her super positive energy I can revitalize.

Kimura: The way we feel definitely.
