MPI’s health can be measured by the health of our chapters, and our chapters are healthy only as a result of the strong volunteer leaders who run them. We are unique in the event industry to have such a broad and strong network of chapters that extend our reach both globally and locally. Our members and our community have access to incredible professional development, meaningful and growing networks, new business opportunities and personal fulfillment at both chapter and MPI Global events. It really is the best of both worlds, and only MPI has it.
For us to continue to grow and flourish, we need to invest in supporting our volunteer leaders and make their roles easier and more rewarding. Each chapter is a small business, and chapter leaders bear significant responsibility for running their businesses well. They also share the responsibility of protecting and growing the MPI brand. Our new chapter financial system will provide a consistent platform for us to know where we stand financially and will ultimately show the impact we have on the event industry when we can roll up those financials globally. The MPI Global staff is looking forward to supporting the successful rollout of this system.
One way we can increase the impact the event industry has on making our world a better place is by looking for the signs of human trafficking as we go about our business and reporting suspicious behavior to the authorities. MPI signed onto the ECPAT Code to help battle this insipid activity and we want to activate our almost 18,000 engaged members to help stamp out this horrific crime. If you see something, say something!
