Connecting with other people is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Discovering people who understand you, and what you’re going through, can offer much-needed perspective and potential solutions to your thorniest problems. As meeting professionals, the science of connecting people is something that we build into our meetings and events.

Introducing MPI Community Verticals & Special Interest Groups
Meeting Professionals International is the largest global association for meeting and event professionals. But it’s not monolithic. And it’s certainly not homogenous. When people think of MPI, they often think “corporate planner,” but that’s only one of our communities. Among the special interest groups we nurture include:
Plus, we produce educational content and activities for Students, Faculty and Supplier Members, and special interest groups, such as MPI LGBTQA and Diversity & Inclusion.
Want to develop community education and assets? Join an MPI Community Advisory Board.
Community advisory boards provide strategic advice and guidance to MPI staff and leadership and suggest educational and editorial content to present online, in The Meeting Professional, through webinars and at MPI signature events.
Board members also may elect to assist in the creation of much-needed resources to benefit the community, such as industry glossaries, planning templates and best practices guides, or act as industry thought leaders, writing blogs or delivering community-focused education. MPI members in good standing may apply to serve on an advisory board here. Boards are selected each November and serve from January through December.
