“A heartfelt thank you to the many colleagues in the hospitality industry who generously provide their support, responding to our call to collaborate for this noble cause.” - Alessia Di Raimondo, President of MPI Italia
The 11th edition of The Movie Charity Auction, organized by All Star Agency and promoted by MPI Italia, concluded successfully in Venice. This year's event, supported by BeAcademy and in partnership with the Venice Region Convention Bureau Network and Vela Spa, attracted over 80 industry professionals. Attendees gathered at The Home of The Human Safety Net in San Marco for a presentation on congress data focusing on the Veneto region.
The online auction, which closed on September 14, raised €10,000 for the MPI Foundation, reinforcing its commitment to the international meeting industry.
Fabrizio D'Oria, operational director of Vela Spa, expressed his satisfaction, noting the event's role in evaluating the evolving MICE sector in Venice, which is crucial for the city’s tourism strategy.
The event featured a meeting moderated by Luisa Bianco from MPI Italia, with insights from key figures, including Venice’s Tourism Councillor Simone Venturini. Participants were invited to continue networking at Hotel Villa delle Palme, where they enjoyed a cocktail event and talks with film industry stars Francesco Apolloni and Liliana Fiorelli.
The online auction attracted significant interest, featuring 58 vouchers from leading hotels and brands in various European cities. Mauro Bernardini of All Star Agency highlighted the auction's growing tradition in both the meeting and entertainment sectors, linking it to broader European successes.
"For consecutive years, the leadership of MPI Italia has creatively developed an event that helps support the foundation efforts," said Kevin Kirby Executive Director of The MPI Foundation. "They are truly an amazing group of individuals! It’s no surprise they were recognized with the MPI Foundation Chapter Champions Award in 2023! Their motivation is to encourage other chapters to find creative ways to support our efforts.”
