Carole McKellar—recognized at WEC San Francisco as one of MPI's 50th anniversary "Legacy Contributors"—shares a bit about how she joined the association and what it has meant for her.
I joined MPI in 1999, after winning an industry award that included MPI membership. I immediately felt I had found a like-minded community and soon extended my network beyond the UK. MPI gave me the opportunity to learn more about the industry globally, develop new skills, travel the world and develop valued friendships. I have loved the opportunity to be involved through chapter, European and international roles and to contribute to the development of our industry over the past 20 years.
I am forever grateful that MPI was the channel through which I was introduced to HelmsBriscoe, and where I found my professional home. Thank you to MPI and to all the wonderful volunteers and leaders who have helped guide me!
For 50 years you’ve been supporting industry professionals and, in 2019, you honored me with induction into the EIC Hall of Leaders... A very special moment to share with my family, friends and colleagues—and for a former archaeologist!! That could never have happened without the encouragement, support and opportunities that MPI opened up for me. I encourage everyone to make the most of your membership and get involved as a volunteer. You won't regret it.
