Loews Arlington (Texas)
The Arlington (Texas) City Council has voted to approve a $550 million addition to the city’s Entertainment District. The project will include a new, 888-room Loews Arlington hotel; a publicly owned convention center; and a parking facility for 1,500 vehicles. Construction is expected to begin in early 2020 and to be completed in 2023. The project will result in 150,000 square feet of indoor convention space, 66,000 square feet of outdoor space and an expo hall that will connect via a skybridge to the new, 300-room Live! by Loews Hotel.
Grand Hansa Hotel, Finland
Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with Primehotels Oy for the first Hyatt property in Finland. Expected to open in 2022, the 224-room Grand Hansa Hotel will become the first The Unbound Collection by Hyatt property in the Nordics. The hotel façade will incorporate references to Finnish folklore and mythology, and extensive conference and meeting facilities will be available.
Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport
PHI Hotel Group has announced the acquisition of the Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport. The 382-room hotel is located on Sea Island Richmond, minutes from Vancouver International Airport, and includes 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space and a 158-slip marina.

Live music venue, bowling alley, restaurant and nightlife space Brooklyn Bowl will open a new branch in Nashville in March. The 1,200-capacity venue will offer a LEED-certified bowling alley and food from Blue Ribbon restaurant group.
The adults-only, all-suite Barceló Maya Riviera recently debuted with 850 guest rooms in Mexico’s Riviera Maya as part of the Barceló Maya Grand Resort complex. The complex also added the Barceló Maya Arena, which has the capacity to host up to 8,000 attendees and offers more than 190,000 square feet of space for expos, conventions and events.
Virgin Hotels Dallas, located in the Design District, features 268 guest rooms (called “Chambers”), a fourth-floor rooftop terrace with a pool and more than 15,500 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor event space.
The new Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center is the city’s first convention center hotel, steps from the newly renovated, 1 million-square-foot Oregon Convention Center, the sports and concert arena Moda Center and high-end eateries and breweries. The city’s MAX Light Rail is directly outside the hotel, which offers 600 guest rooms and 39,000 square feet of meeting space.
