Regional Chair
Leads one of MPI’s eight Regional Councils, each made up of a Regional Chair and Regional Vice Chair and chapter representatives in the region and sits on the Council of Regional Chairs.

 

Regional Vice Chair 
Supports the Regional Chair in leading the Regional Council and advancing regional initiatives that strengthen local Chapters and Clubs.

 

Council Chair 
Oversees the Council of Regional Chairs, fostering collaboration, aligning strategy, and sharing best practices across all eight regions.

Regional Chair and Regional Vice Chair

 

Both the roles of Regional Chair and the Vice Chair:

  • Oversee the stability, growth, and success of each Region
  • Lead strategic development and monitors regional health
  • Ensure alignment with MPI’s mission, vision, and goals
  • Provide proactive communication, and guidance
  • Mentor volunteers to drive performance, sustainability and succession planning

The Regional Chairs serve as region representatives on the Council of Regional Chairs.  Acting as the liaison between MPI Global and Chapter Leaders, the regional chairs share messaging in both directions.

Ideal Candidates for Regional Chairs and Regional Vice Chairs

  • Recent experience as a Chapter Leader
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to inspire others
  • Strong understanding of Chapter operation and governance
  • Deep Knowledge of the local/regional meetings industry
  • Well-connected within the broader MPI and industry community

Practical Description of Regional Chair’s Role 

 (2-year term) January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2027

 

  • Serves on the Regional Chairs Council, collaborates with peers from all eight regions
  • Fosters collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement across all established MPI regions
  • Participates in 10-12 regional meetings
  • Provides strategic direction, benchmarking and mentorship to Chapter leaders
  • Meets quarterly with all Regional Council Chairs to share updates on projects and programs happening within the region
  • Shares best practices to enhance chapter performance and member engagement
  • Acts as a liaison between regions and MPI global leadership
  • Creates and distributes monthly agendas and quarterly IBOD reports

Practical Description of Regional Vice Chair’s Role 

(2-year term) January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026

 

  • Supports all Chair responsibilities in providing strategic direction, benchmarking, best practices and mentorship to Chapter leaders
  • Attends meetings and represents the Chair when needed
  • Acts as meeting secretary and shares post-meeting notes in MPI Community

Chair of the Council of Regional Chairs

 (2-year term)  January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2027

 

As Council Chair, you will lead the Council of Regional Chairs. You’ll have the unique opportunity to align strategy, benchmarking success, share best practices, and mentor leaders across the global MPI network.   Beginning in 2026, the chair of the council of regional chairs is its own role and will not be appointed from the roster of council chairs.

In this influential role, you will:

  • Lead a cohesive and high-performing council of Regional Chairs
  • Inspire innovation and set the highest performance standards
  • Shape MPI’s strategic direction at the regional level
  • Foster strong collaboration between regions and MPI Global leadership
  • Collaborate closely with MPI Global leadership

Ideal Candidates for the Chair of the Council of Regional Chairs

  • Experience as a Regional Chair, Chapter Leader, and/or International Committee member
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see both regional and global perspectives
  • Skilled facilitator of effective discussions
  • Proven ability to mentor, influence, and inspire leaders
