Resorts World Las Vegas

Resorts World Las Vegas has unveiled updated plans for the US$4.3 billion luxury resort-casino to include new amenities such as a 5,000-capacity theater; a 75,000-square-foot nightlife/daylife concept; a 50-foot diameter video globe; and additional luxury suites, villas and penthouses with individual lobby experiences, open balconies and a sky casino. Projected to open in Summer 2021, Resorts World Las Vegas will include a 110,000-square-foot casino, 3,500 guest rooms, 350,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space and a 27,000-square-foot spa.

Andaz Prague

Hyatt Hotels Corp. has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement for the first Hyatt property in the Czech Republic. The “Sugar Palace” hotel project will become the new Andaz Prague. Located at Senovážné Square a short walk from Old Town, the 175-room hotel with nearly 5,000 square feet of event space is expected to open in 2022.

Oregon Convention Center

The Oregon Convention Center (OCC) in Portland has completed a $40 million renovation project that includes updates to numerous public spaces throughout the venue in order to improve accessibility for event attendees, provide more flexible and transformable space options and elevate design aspects. The OCC features 255,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, two grand ballrooms and 52 meeting rooms. The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center will debut in December 2020 with 600 guest rooms.

More New & Renovated

Marriott Jacksonville (Fla.) has completed Phase I of its multimillion-dollar renovation focused on the transformation of the hotel’s guest rooms and suites. Phase II, which includes public and meeting spaces, dining venues, the outside pool deck, the fitness center and Marriott’s signature Greatroom (which includes the lobby lounge,  lobby bar and restaurant), is expected to be complete in January 2020. The hotel offers 255 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn (New York) just unveiled its meeting and event spaces. The hotel offers more than 20,000 square of flexible event space, a full-service kosher kitchen and 127 guest rooms.

The Radisson RED West Perth will debut in 2022 a short walk from the Perth Arena and Hay Street—offering lively cafes, restaurants and bars—and a three-minute drive from the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. The hotel will feature 129 guest rooms and approximately 1,700 square feet of meeting space.

The Hyatt Regency Aruba will complete multiyear multimillion-dollar renovation in Q1 2020. The project started with a $21 million top-to-bottom renovation of 359 guest rooms and suites. During Q1, the resort is going to remodel a 43,000-square-foot area of the resort’s beachfront outdoor space. There will be an 8,000-square-foot, multi-level pool complex complete with a three-story water slide, a swim-up bar and lush tropical surroundings. The resort offers 33,000 square feet of meeting space.
