Scholarships are the core of your foundation’s ongoing contribution to complement MPI membership, education and career opportunities. With these scholarships, together, we move this community and our global industry towards critical recovery. Whether you just started your career or you’re an industry vet, the MPI Foundation assists those that share the same commitment and passion to professional excellence. Scholarships are governed by the Global Board of Trustees with oversight conducted by the Grants & Scholarship Committee.

Current Scholarship Opportunities
EMEC Barcelona Scholarships
MPI Foundation offers scholarships for MPI members to attend EMEC Barcelona in 2026. Scholarships cover registration and include a 700 euro post-conference reimbursement of travel/accommodations to Barcelona. Scholarships cannot be combined with other programs like hosted buyer, and cannot be used with registrations already paid.

Sales AI Certificate Scholarships for DMO/CVB Professionals
If you are a professional employed by a destination marketing organization (DMO) or convention and visitors bureau (CVB), Digital Edge invites you to apply for a scholarship to take MPI Academy's Sales AI Certificate! Applicants will be notified of their award status in the month after they apply.
Wyndham Membership Scholarships for Planners
Wyndham Worldwide supports scholarships for US planners to renew their membership or initiate a new membership with MPI. Applications are accepted on a monthly basis, with notifications sent out to applicants in the month after they apply.
Hilton Membership Scholarships
Hilton is donating new and renewing memberships for planners and students in Latin America, Canada, and the US. Applications are accepted on a monthly basis! Applicants will be notified in the month after they apply.
Visit Denver Student Scholarships
Students are invited to apply for scholarships from Visit Denver. Applicants will be notified of their award status in the month after they apply.
MPI Academy CMM Scholarships
Partial CMM scholarships in the amount of $2,200 are available to MPI members. Applications are accepted through November 10, 2025 for those who can take the online course by December 31, 2025.
Natural Disaster and Hardship Relief Scholarships
The MPI Foundation, in partnership with MPI, will be helping to cover costs related to membership dues, professional development, or participation in events, ensuring that our members can continue to engage with the MPI community even during difficult times.
Discover Puerto Rico Certificate Course Scholarships
With thanks to Discover Puerto Rico, planners located near the MPI Carolinas Chapter, Southern California Chapter, Northern California Chapter, Greater New York Chapter and New England Chapter areas are eligible for Inclusive Event Strategist, Women in Leadership, and Event Leadership Strategist Certificate Course Scholarships.
Applicants will be contacted with their award status in the month after they apply.
Academy Scholarships from MPI Foundation
All MPI members are eligible for scholarships toward the following courses: Event Wellness Design, Sustainable Event Strategist, Inclusive Event Strategist, and the Event Leadership Strategist. Courses must be taken by December 3. Applications will be accepted until all scholarships are claimed; applicants will receive notification, at the latest, in the month after they apply.
A Note About MPI Foundation Scholarship Applications
MPI Foundation applications have moved to an updated applicant portal. The new portal will make your application process much easier. In the new portal, you will be required to set up a new account. Once you set up your new account, you will be able to access the application.
